True kvlt – Black Phantom, Pagan Rites and Unveil The Omen

It’s that time of the week again when we go through our followers’ submissions in hopes of finding the next big thing. Today, we have two albums and one single. A strange mix, you might say, but may I remind you that at MER, we do whatever we want since you haven’t opened thy wallet yet. Remember, beggars can’t be choosers.

Helps us start an illegal militia here

Black PhantomHorror Paradise: Do you miss when Iron Maiden played Heavy Metal without always trying to make songs longer than LOTR? I do, which is why this album hit me like a bag of nostalgic memories of a time when classic bands didn’t have to complicate things. Of course, you’ve heard everything here before and maybe you’d even feel it’s derivative, but I want to acknowledge that Black Phantom understands how to make an album sound good (no True kvlt production at all!), knows how to write fun songs, and by the way, whoever wrote the guitar solos in this album must be a blast to party with. Pagan RitesPagan Metal Legion: When I saw the cover art, I expected a Black Metal album with Folk touches, but what I found was different. A strange mix of Industrial, Black, and just plain weird influences make for an interesting combination that, though I’m not sure I’m fully on board with, clearly has its own identity. My favorite part: the mechanical sound of its guitars is pretty cool and groovy. Parts I didn’t get: the voice in the mix is peculiar; I’d even say too loud. Finally, you need to be ready for a long ride; this thing is extremely long, but it’ll keep you guessing until the end. Click here.

Unveil The OmenNever Forget (For Weary): Now, this wasn’t supposed to make it here since it’s only one track, but when I listened to it, I was pleasantly surprised! There’s such a crazy mix of Death, Black, Prog, and even Core elements here that made this one track a wacky and groovy ride through many sub-genres. It’s hard to describe, but I can only define it as creative despite its production. I’m even a bit excited to see what Unveil The Omen will do next. Let me know when the album is out so we can review it! In the meantime, click here!

There you have it! Three more of your suggestions. The blood thirst of the masses is finally slowing down, so we’ll be back with a few more True kvlt releases next week. If you’ve been following this section for a while, you’ve noticed we try not to leave anyone behind, but as in any war, that’s bound to happen. We’ll reach out with a headcount later on to check who was forgotten and maybe give them a second chance in life, but for now, keep it together, ok?
