Alright! After a short break, we’re back with our sewer-diving sport, where we check out what the small projects send us. Keep reading, because you never know when you’ll find the next big band here—just remember to tell everyone you discovered it via MER Industries. The rest are unnecessary details, right? Anyway, let’s get this list started and hope we survive the production choices!

Hel Hath Fury – From Ashes: Let’s get something straight—this EP is awesome! It has everything you want from a Melodic Death Metal release: thunderous riffs, catchy songwriting, and a good balance between familiarity and novelty. It’s freaking epic! Even the production is decent enough. I can’t wait for Hel Hath Fury to unleash its full potential in an album because the only thing better than 24 minutes of this work is probably 20 minutes. Yes, I’m usually not this flattering, so click here!

Cult of Alcaeus and Necro Algorithm – Doomed Algorithms: This one is a split—and a rancid one at that! Despite these two bands coexisting in similar Death Metal realms, they have slightly different approaches. You could argue Necro Algorithm is more old-school, while Cult of Alcaeus tries for a more atmospheric approach, but it’s all in the details. What matters is that, despite the True kvlt production, these two mix well with each other, delivering crushing and savage riff after another. Yet, there’s a great sense of groove here, which is less common than what we usually have on Sundays. Click here!

Schatten Muse – Schicksalsweg: How do I put this? Schatten Muse is one of the weirdest acts we’ve had in this section. Can I call it Electro-Goth? Does that make sense? As you can see, I have more questions than answers, but let’s put it this way: this album is spiritually Metal but more ambient in practice. I’d highly recommend this if you want to get out of your usual bashing playlists and try something different that still has a touch of darkness. It’ll take you to an artsy land of drama and tombstones. Click here!
It’s nice to be back! We had some interesting surprises this week—more proof that if you stay resilient amidst all the dirt, your faith (in Metal) will be rewarded. Anyway, it’s Sunday. Go out there and enjoy your last break before returning to slaving away for the week. Cheers!
