Metalcatto

Let’s do this as usual! With violence!

HallucinophonicsC’est la Vie: Would it make sense if I call this desert Rock? It has that thick, warm, and contemplative atmosphere that we don’t usually pick here. It’s a slow track with ups and downs that could probably help you relax after all the unrelenting blast beats you’ve put yourself through the whole week. So, if you’d like some melancholy that doesn’t feel like being in the middle of freezing woods, then this is it. Click here!

VihilijaRelictum: We’re back with this Post/Black band from Belarus, and as you know, this is what this section is for. Depressing, corrosive, but also with glimpses of hope here and there. This track shows that you can stay loyal to the deep underground and that raw, disgusting sound so many of you crave, without completely alienating us (the people not yet corrupted by static noise). If you enjoyed Sakna, you should go for this one next! Click here!

Pick Up GoliathRise of the Machine: The last time this band was here, it left me with a good impression. However, I didn’t expect the next track to be practically an homage to Skyharbor. This accessible take on Djent is just as technical and complex but keeps the vocals at a digestible range for newcomers. I can see how criticism might come from the more underground direction, and I get it—it’s too pretty! But hey, not everything can be recorded in a gig restroom! Click here!

Aggressors PoetryMy World: Despite my reservations, I always try to bring some Heavy/Power Metal into this section for the geeks. That’s what we’ve got here—direct and humble riffs that don’t demand much from you aside from feeling the music and headbanging until that pain in your back returns again. You can definitely sense the past glories in this one. Click here!

Govey/MatthewJustice: I like to close this article with something weird sometimes. Here we have some atmospheric and almost proggy rock that reminds you how painful it was to get dumped in front of your family members. Ok, maybe I’m projecting here, but that sad and nostalgic solo really hit home and convinced me to give some extra attention to this underground darling. Maybe you should too! Click here!

That’s it for today, kids! Join us next week when we keep the hope alive for those neglected by the mainstream.
