Your Birth Month = Your Metal Album (and it’s way truer than astrology)

Vicky

Metalheads deserve to know whether they are the album they adore, according to their birth month. Through the power of astronomy I have made this list entirely from scratch. Alright, without the power of astronomy, just the power of your recommendations. So I’ve gathered some of the coolest albums my friends gave me (and that I thought were kind of good, too) and made a list.

Scroll down to find what album you should be listening to – Facebook/Instagram style. Enjoy!

January – Absolute Elsewhere (Blood Incantation)

This album is Prog, it’s Death, it’s everything you expected Dream Theater to be in its early days. Oh, and most importantly, it holds the keys to deciphering various codes of the Universe, just like a person born in January does. And we can never hate a person born in January, they are just pure gold.

February – Reise Reise (Rammstein)

I think that the highlight of this album is hearing Till Lindemann pronouncing the “r” in Reise as if he were a helicopter preparing for take off. Moving on, people born in February are very mysterious and change moods often (not a bad thing though), just like this LP.

March – Harvest (Naglfar)

Since our lovely colleague Ixone Eigengrau was born in March, this is my way of paying tribute to her. People born in March tend to philosophize sometimes, they like being creative, and they live through their art. They can be found saying stuff like My eyes they mirror my soul, and let’s just face it, that is a great part of the reason why we care so much about them!

April – Nightfall (Candlemass)

Sometimes I feel like “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish is somehow the Pop version of “The Well of Souls”. Let’s get to the point. People born in April want to live every second to its fullest, no matter what, Candlemass style.

May – Shadows Are Security (As I Lay Dying)

If you were born in May, then you can work well under pressure and you try to convince people that you’re doing well, despite being stressed. They also think that “Control is Dead”, yet that “Morning Waits”.

June – Legions (Dragonknight)

Since two of our wonderful colleagues at Metal Eclipse Reviews, Elyna Khan and Pegah, are both born in July, I have decided to dedicate to Elyna the album of June, and to Pegah the album of July. And thus we have a special summer (like Bryan Adams did). Legions is a very complex album that only those who see the beauty of Neoclassical/Power Metal music will understand. It is very well balanced (between rough and melodic, and between dark and bright), and it definitely matches the vibe of a person born in a warm season. People born in June are kind, warm-hearted, and they like to solve problems for others.

July – Monotony Fields (Shape of Despair)

As mentioned before, this one goes out to Pegah! So, people born in July are very nice, and tolerant, accepting the flaws of those they care about. They forgive others easily, they want to see their loved ones strive, and they are sometimes “Withdrawn”, while they seek “The Distant Dream of Life”. And they always find it!

August – The Sound of Perseverance (Death)

If you were born in August, then it’s a 50-50% chance you’ve heard of this masterpiece that has revolutionized the face of what we nowadays call Death Metal. If you first thought of the solo in “Voice of the Soul” when first reading this portion of the article, you’re not alone.

September – Drinks and Dragons (Sovengar)

My birth month, my rules. And one of them is that people should say to others when they get angry, the title of the sixth song off this album, and then just move on. Us, people born in September, are usually quite friendly and funny, and we think outside the box. Or inside of the outside of the box. This article is the perfect example for that…

October – Wishmaster (Nightwish)

People born in October are some of the best you can find. They have “Wanderlust”, and they never forget to show their real emotions. Wishmaster, one of the best by Nightwish, is a great representation of how October-born persons are also very dynamic and overall amazing.

November – Images and Words (Dream Theater)

Since our great manager, Catto’s birthday is in November, I just had to add another Prog Metal album to this list. People born in November are often calm and very down-to-earth (sort of like the opposite of us, those born in September). Whenever something difficult comes their way, they know that they should just wait for “Another Day”. Wow, that rhymed!

December – Ace of Spades (Motörhead)

I’m going to end this calendar on a cheerful note. This one goes out to our dear colleague Milo Lane, born in December. Ace of Spades is one of the most honest albums you’ll find in Heavy Metal – you can’t say you “mildly like it”. No, you’re either crazy about it, or you hate it. The same goes with people born in December, you either like them or you can’t stand them. And we’re definitely big fans of them!

And that was all for now, folks. Stay tuned for more Metal madness. Maybe we’ll do another list of this sort?
