Vicky’s Top Artworks of 2025

Vicky

I decided to eventually stop procrastinating, and finally get to writing this article, and actually give you what you guys have been asking for for a while, a top best artworks made by a person lacking in any sort of drawing skills whatsoever. But, I make up for that with my writing skills, you have to give me credit for it. Without any further do, here are the three albums I really liked, artwork-wise:

3. EnthronedAshspawn (Season of Mist)

I’m not even sure why I liked this artwork, but it just seems like it is really good. I appreciate the fact that it has a lot of details, even though I don’t really want to start dissecting them. The album cover basically blends the evil themes of the songs, with the earthly world, resulting in an eerie picture crafted by the maestro José Gabriel Alegría Sabogal.

2. ReminaThe Silver Sea (Avantgarde Music)

Heike Langhans proves to us all once again that she isn’t just a wonderful vocalist, but also a highly talented visual artist. The artwork for The Silver Sea depicts a sea-like labyrinth (or vice versa, if you will), and an otherworldly portal or door that seems to be rising from the deep. A character that resembles a young princess is walking on water, and it’s somewhat safe to assume that she herself comes from a parallel universe. Overall, the album cover is complex, and I reckon that everyone can find a unique way of interpreting its meaning.

1. SodomThe Arsonist (Steamhammer)

This artwork is pretty disturbing, but glorious at the same time – just fitting for these Teutonic Thrash Metal masters. It shows a young soldier who I am still quite unable to say whether is already deceased, sad, or just drained of energy by the living half-corpse touching him. But that’s not important. The half-alive, half-corpse character matters here. It’s fascinating how that is really a metaphor for the damage that war can do on people. All that suffering, and grief, pain, is represented through this incredible painting by Zbigniew M. Bielak.

I’ll spare you any more dull details, and just mention that I hope you all keep listening to music – GOOD MUSIC, and human-made music, I may add. “Live Life Loud”, as HammerFall would say.
