Who On Earth – It Takes the Village

Metalcatto

I keep exploring things I would normally pass on. Everyone else at MER Industries is busy with life, so it’s time for me to try the old school Hard Rock and Heavy Metal ride that Who on Earth is planning to deliver with It Takes the Village. I wonder: to do what? Raise a child? Maybe I’m missing something, but I’ll dive in and find out.

Mega Colossus – Watch Out!

Metalcatto

Mega Colossus clearly has a thing for size. This Heavy Metal act comes with artwork and an album title that couldn’t be further from each other in terms of what they convey. Everything was telling me this was going to be another okay album, but at the same time, this battered subgenre has had a surprisingly good year so far. Hence, why not dare to not be a total hater for once? Let’s try.

Ravenspell – Obsidian King

Metalcatto

I usually do everything in my power to dodge traditional Heavy Metal. It just feels like everything has been said and done a thousand times over. However, Ravenspell‘s Obsidian King claims there’s something more to say in the wacky, bloated history of the style. As you can tell, my hopes are buried somewhere below realistic, but the job is the job, right? It’s time to go on.

Triumpher – Piercing The Heart of The World

Metalcatto

Enough with all the edgy and depressing stuff. How about some epic Heavy/Power Metal to remind you that you were once an innocent child full of hopes and dreams before the world mauled you into the husk you are now. Triumpher‘s Priercing The Heart of the World opens with everything that promises to lift your spirits, right?
