True kvlt – Tria Prima, Waldruine,Buzzard & Daniel Neel

Welcome back to another edition of our favorite section of the week: True Kvlt, where you send us your dungeon tapes, and we provide mostly constructive feedback—plus a few bad jokes to keep the audience engaged. Nothing too wild; after all, if you want to make it in the music world, you need to be ready to take a few punches from nameless creatures on the internet. Let’s dive in!

Tria Prima – Three Primes of Alchemy: This EP is weird—in the best way! You know how old-school Death Metal, especially the Swedish style, can feel boring and repetitive? That’s not the case here! Tria Prima manages to do something rare: be creative. Imagine blending that classic old-school vibe with Symphonic Metal, adding layers of depth to the sound. Sure, the production is a bit raw, but this is so interesting! I’ve never heard this combination before, and now I can’t wait for a full album from these guys. Click here!

Waldruine – Todes-Fluch (Neidstange): This is quintessential True Kvlt material. It’s depressing, minimalist, semi-raw Black Metal that somehow feels both well-produced and harsher than waking up at 3 a.m. for work (never done it, but it sounds awful). You could call this single Atmospheric Black Metal, but it’s got more going on than most in the genre. I’m sure many of you will love it. Click here!

Buzzard – Doom Folk: Ever wondered what a mix of American folk and Doom Metal might sound like? I hadn’t either, but Doom Folk is a fresh, strange dive into a different time and world. Don’t worry; it’s not slow, but it’s not exactly heavy, either. It’s Metal in spirit. While it could’ve been a bit shorter, it’s nice to take a break from the usual bone-crushing submissions and enjoy music that makes me want to ride a horse to the nearest water post. Click here!

Daniel Neel – Descent: We don’t get much Proggy/Djent material, so Descent stands out. If you’re a rhythm junkie, this one’s for you. Even as an instrumental journey, Daniel brings a wide range of ideas and resources to keep things engaging, all while showcasing undeniable technical prowess. If the usual Djent formula puts you to sleep, give this quirky and creative experience a shot. Click here!

I’ll keep the outro short: thanks for joining us again! Let us know which band surprised you—either here or on our socials. Wherever anxiety eats you up less. See you next time!
