True kvlt: Hell Winter, Rheûma & Haissem

It’s time! To show mercy to the underground and believe you people can send us quality. I’m starting to think that this intro paragraph should be made by an AI because you don’t really care about it, right? You’re just here to get a bunch of cool and quirky bands for your playlist, or maybe not—maybe you’ll actually open that wallet for once. Either way, we have a good mix of singles, EPs, and albums this time. Enjoy while you can!

Hell WinterPainting in Black: I guess everything is rather evident here. This album is Black Metal reminiscent of Dimmu Borgir, but without all the symphonic drama (so more Immortal, maybe?). That might be a plus for you. It’s rough when it comes to production values, but it’s still clean enough to be enjoyable. It has that macabre atmosphere without ever slowing down. So, if you want some direct Black Metal that also pays homage to the ’90s Scandinavian scene, then look no further. Click here!

RheûmaCircularity: Well, this is interesting! It’s like relaxing Progressive Death Metal. There’s no abusing the shred here. The single does what it has to with proportion and measure. It shows a band full of potential and, I must say, stellar production. If you want something meditative but neither slow nor boring, this is definitely for you. It’s a journey to faraway galaxies that we can all get behind! Click here!

HaissemPure Evil As Thou Art: It’s been a while since we reviewed a full album at True Kvlt, which is why we had to keep this harsh, freezing, and slightly lo-fi piece of Black Metal. This is more ’90s worship, but more from the Norwegian school. So, expect Kampfar and Satyricon riffing styles with just melodic details here and there that reminded me of, well, anything from Sweden. It’s just a non-stop display of dark fury. You might’ve heard it all before, but it’s always a blast to listen to it balanced this way. Hence, for those who love anything kvlt, this is a must. Click here! It’s not out yet, but we have some info!

That’s it for today, kids! We’re back to having a few releases to check in this section, so be patient, and your time will come. Queuing is hell, but it builds character—or so said my friend who grew up in the Soviet Union. I won’t make this any longer. You know what to do: click around and show some love to the underground. Until next time!
