Shout-out time!
5 Ash Kills – Limb: Alright people, we start with something that clearly feels like an acid trip that becomes absolutely terrifying, but somehow keeps a sense of groove. There’s creativity here that’s usually hard to find in the daily submissions. Just be ready for real noise—this isn’t background music.
Cranium Rubrum – Renaissance: Despite its refined name, this track is eerie Black Metal from the catacombs. It creates a wall of torment that could rival any typical release we review in the daily section. Yet it sticks to the winning formula of the subgenre without trying to reinvent anything.
RSGD – SS. Cristo alla Colonna: With a title that makes you think about Catholic school songs, this is an instrumental track that oozes warmth without abusing the shredding possibilities. If anything, there’s some sense of orderly cacophony here—organized chaos that rewards attention. Don’t dismiss it right away.
Juirema Juice – Caos: Now this is all about psychedelic fun and expansive riffs. It has touches of retro-rock but also takes a lot from Doom. After all that, the track keeps feeling fun and adventurous—things I don’t usually use to describe Doom or Sludge Metal. Plus, the artwork is awesome. Worth a spin just for the vibe.
Aviditas – Cleansing: Another familiar face in this section. You know what to expect: epic vocals and thunderous riffs that aren’t as heavy as they are emotionally intense. It leans more toward the Power Metal side of things, but if you want a quick adrenaline pump, this band has you covered for a while.
Craig Bannerman – How Long O Lord: Yes, this is freaking heavy, brutal, and hostile—you name it. However, what I like the most is how it combines that unrelenting energy with more symphonic elements. The track feels truly harrowing and almost Gothic without all the cringe that usually comes with that territory.
Edoma – Святилище ревущей метели: Abrasive and unforgiving Black Metal. You know that’s what this section was all about back in the day. So why not give a try to a project that has nothing to envy from the big bands in Western Europe or the USA? It’s just unstoppable blasting with decent production from beginning to end. No frills, no apologies.
